“Truly I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12
So… When I first read this, I was like WOW those who believe (Christians) will also do the works that Jesus does. I mean that’s pretty dang cool considering I am just a small child compared to JESUS. Then I kept reading and it says that I will do even greater works than what Jesus has done. WOAH WHAT?!?
How is that even possible… we are talking about THE JESUS CHRIST. So, I did some more research before I began to write this wisdom Wednesday because I did not want to give y’all false hope that we have the power to raise people out of the grave (not really, but really).
So, this is what I found…
Jesus was not saying that we would do more amazing miracles than Him (sorry if that’s what you thought...). Rather, He was saying that we have the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT and with this power we are capable of spreading the gospel into the ENTIRE World!
So, what does this mean…
THIS MEANS GOD GAVE US POWER THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT SO WE COULD SPREAD GOD’S KINGDOM THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!
WE HAVE GOD’S POWER LITERALLY LIVING INSIDE OF US! I must say that pretty POWERFUL!
So here is the deal…
God has given us the power we need to share the gospel. Now we as human beings have the power to choose what we do with it.
